Me // I question.

I did the personality out of curiosity. I have become someone else from who I was, I wanted to know if that showed in my personality traits. It produced this:

Like the other Idealists, Champions are rather rare, say three or four percent of the population, but even more than the others they consider intense emotional experiences as being vital to a full life. Champions have a wide range and variety of emotions, and a great passion for novelty. They see life as an exciting drama, pregnant with possibilities for both good and evil, and they want to experience all the meaningful events and fascinating people in the world. The most outgoing of the Idealists, Champions often can't wait to tell others of their extraordinary experiences. Champions can be tireless in talking with others, like fountains that bubble and splash, spilling over their own words to get it all out. And usually this is not simple storytelling; Champions often speak (or write) in the hope of revealing some truth about human experience, or of motivating others with their powerful convictions. Their strong drive to speak out on issues and events, along with their boundless enthusiasm and natural talent with language, makes them the most vivacious and inspiring of all the types.

Fiercely individualistic, Champions strive toward a kind of personal authenticity, and this intention always to be themselves is usually quite attractive to others. At the same time, Champions have outstanding intuitive powers and can tell what is going on inside of others, reading hidden emotions and giving special significance to words or actions. In fact, Champions are constantly scanning the social environment, and no intriguing character or silent motive is likely to escape their attention. Far more than the other Idealists, Champions are keen and probing observers of the people around them, and are capable of intense concentration on another individual. Their attention is rarely passive or casual. On the contrary, Champions tend to be extra sensitive and alert, always ready for emergencies, always on the lookout for what's possible.

Champions are good with people and usually have a wide range of personal relationships. They are warm and full of energy with their friends. They are likable and at ease with colleagues, and handle their employees or students with great skill. They are good in public and on the telephone, and are so spontaneous and dramatic that others love to be in their company. Champions are positive, exuberant people, and often their confidence in the goodness of life and of human nature makes good things happen.

I don't know if it matches me or not. Sometimes it would. But what I couldn't help but laugh at is the name my grandpa gave me when I was born. My grandma made this for me when I was one week old.

It's cute. It's nice. And it's ironic. Both my grandpa and my personality test determine me as a champion.

  • moderately expressed extravert
  • moderately expressed intuitive personality
  • distinctively expressed feeling personality
  • slightly expressed perceiving personality
Here is a link to a good description that includes both the positives and the negatives of being a ENFP (champion). I hear some of them!

What personality type are you?

Words // No one is out there

I'm looking for blogs in my niche.

I don't think I have a niche.

It's somewhere in between photography, both landscape and otherwise, theology and general (or odd) life.

I'm going to start writing more stories. I love substance. I will only get to know you via stories, and you will only truly know me when I share stories with you.

January 1, 2012.
Isn't strange how you can be surrounded by people, yet feel so alone. Not necessarily in a bad way, though sometimes it is daunting. Here is the thread from which I hung for 45 mins. My whole life depended on the strength of this one rope, no wider than 12mm. I felt so dependent, so helpless and so so small.

There is my brother, my best friend, at the bottom of the rope, only 40 metres away. It was a long, long 40 metres. So much around me suddenly had a different purpose. the belt I had nonchalantly put on carried my life. The rock face in front of me held incredible beauty. The camera I held became so non-important, as I thought about the perspective that I was gaining in that time.

I enjoyed feeling small. I delighted having my often, pride-filled attitude towards my independence, diminished by the realisation that I can be so powerless. It did something else. It made everything else seem so big. Especially the things that surrounded me, the rock wall, the ascender I was attached to the rope on, the knot at the top.

There was a moment a few weeks ago, where I was listening to a narration of Jesus' crucifixion. Jesus, through extreme pain, continued to speak the words of power that held the nails, cross, centurion, clouds, earth and all that existed in place.

He had to keep speaking those words to keep me alive. God became very very big.

Across from us, two amazing climbers were free-climbing, bottom rope, up another corner of Pt. Perpendicular. They had amazing talent. It made me want to do more sports photography, extreme photography. Something I will definitely explore in the future.
This is my dog, Gibson. He is the second Golden Retriever we have owned, Archie, the first dog died from a nose cancer. When we had grieved, and longed for a new furry excitable friend, we couldn't go past the Golden Retriever. They are extremely friendly! Gibson does not stop longing for love, and his honesty is something that I appreciate. We all want affection. I'm often to ashamed to ask for it.

In the photo above he is still a little wet, after going for a swim in the (now flooding) lake in Wagga. Around Christmas time though, in fact all of summer, he and I love going to the lake or the river and spending time in the water.

Link me a blog post that tells me more about you. Or comment, that would be awesome.

Enjoy your day,

Royce.

Eleven things and one apology

I haven't posted in ages! I'm sorry. I have a full computer and a full brain and a full week and it's all too much for me!

Not really, I'm just making excuses. What better way to get back into blogging then the eleven things. Here we go, really quickly like.

Eleven things...

There are five rules:

// Post these rules.
// Post a photo of yourself and 11 random things.
// Answer the questions set for you in the original post.
// Create 11 new questions and tag people to answer them.
// Go to their blog/twitter and tell them you've tagged them.

11 Random Things:
1 // I have lived in 4 different states and visited all of them. I love Australia, but thats not random, so I'll throw it in here.
2 // The toes on my right foot curl much more then on my left foot.
3 // My mouth/tongue does a funny thing when I'm grumpy and I don't even know it.
4 // Was a musical nerd through school.
5 // Wish skate shoes were as fashionable as they are comfy.
6 // Had short hair and served the Queen for two years
7 // My birthday is on September the 11th
8 // My brother is one of my best friends.
9 // I study Theology
10 // I am trying to get better at guitar
11 // I don't have the easiest personality to get along with. Apologies

My Questions: (from Lou)

1 // The best birthday present you ever received? Would have to be my silver plated trumpet, given to me by my grandma.

2 // Your go-to, never-fail meal? Spaghetti Bolognaise, or if I cant cook it (cause I cant be bothered) noodles in a box always go well.
3 // Your most unfortunate holiday experience? Can remember many hiking trips spent entirely wet from head to toe for several days... but for some reason I enjoyed them more than one should.
4 // One thing that you wish you had? A singing voice. I can sing, but it's not a singing voice.
5 // Your Facebook friends: The more the merrier or select few? More the merrier without a doubt. I interact with heaps of different people with different worldviews. Good fun. Does get a bit laborious sometimes, so there are the special people I pay more attention to.
6 // Your shoe size? 10? My right foot is half a size smaller then my left.
7 // What names are NOT on your baby names list? If you don't have a list, just pretend you do! Hahaha baby names... Right. Um, Melchizeldek? He's a cool dude, but the name isn't any good. Hamish has always upset me a little bit. And those sort of ex-girlfriend names.
8 // Your morning routine? Varies a lot. Revolves around the shower and waking up via reading twitter on my phone and falling back to sleep often.
9 // Your favourite thing about blogging? Learning about everything! People, photography, stories! It's the best.
10 // What were you like at age 16? Funny, friendly, but a real doosh. Depends who you are. I changed a lot. Thankfully a bit more integrity and consistency has come.
11 // What is your biggest accomplishment thus far in life? I don't completely feel like I can take credit for it.... but figuring out the purposes and mission for me (granted, vaguely) for my life on earth is a huge relief.

My questions:
1 // Favourite sport as a teenager?
2 // Most comfortable place?
3 // Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
4 // What do you do to relax and unwind?
5 // Dressed up to the 9's or shorts and singlet?
6 // Favourite food?
7 // 2nd favourite band?
8 // What kind of relationship do you have with your siblings?
9 // Why do you blog?
10 // Would you prefer a zombie apocalypse or a meteor collision?
11 //  What is the big global need that you feel most personal about?

Go for it, who ever it is that reads this!! And let me know how you go.

Thanks for your time,

Royce

P.s. I only know about 4 people in the blogosphere, and they have already done this so... Maybe it'll just be for your entertainment.
